Despite all its technological achievements, this Planet Ocean is, from every angle, a purebred Seamaster. We are reminded of this upon seeing the traditional applied logo on the dial, the notched bezel, the traditional hands, and the contrasting colors of the dial.
The matte black dial offers excellent contrast thanks to the applied luminescent hour markers and the polished hands. The date window is positioned at 6:00, the faceted rhodium-plated hands have Superluminova inserts, and the great effect is completed by the orange tip of the seconds hand and the orange sub-dial hand – this fact gives the timepiece a fresh, summery appearance.
One of the things that is almost impossible to show in its full beauty in photos is the various dimensions of the dial. The sub-dials are recessed, and the metallic Omega logo and metallic rings around the sub-dials make this watch look great and truly catch the light.
Special attention must be given to the movement of this wonderful timepiece. Under the name Calibre 9300 lies what has been repeatedly recognized by specialists as one of the best in-house Omega movements of the last 15 years.
It deserves special attention – an automatic chronograph, operating at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations (3.5 Hz), unusual for other movements, with two barrels, 54 jewels, and 337 components – with Omega's Co-Axial escapement and a Si14 silicon balance wheel – COSC certified and with a power reserve of over 60 hours. Co-Axial is a patented Omega technology that significantly reduces friction in the heart of the watch's movement and offers improved reliability and accuracy, as well as longevity of the movement. The column-wheel chronograph ensures a smooth start of the seconds hand when the chronograph is started and provides precise stopping and resetting.
The transparent case back allows us to enjoy the operation of this movement and makes the entire product look even better.
The bracelet is very comfortable due to the clasp with its easy-to-use release buttons – clean in design and of very high quality. Brushed with polished edges, its only drawback is the lack of micro-adjustment, but this problem is solved by using a so-called "half-link" – not many other brands offer such an extra.
