The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is undoubtedly legendary in every respect, and it is equally beyond doubt that this timepiece is a worthy representative for any collection. The first FF was launched back in 1953 and for more than 65 years has continued to be one of the icons for connoisseurs of the art of watchmaking around the world.
Reissued several times in different variations, this model has become an entire model line for the brand. The model presented today was launched in 2017, is current for the brand, and at least as far as the design is concerned, it comes closest to the original – of course, in a contemporary interpretation.
The case of this work of horological art, with its impressive 45 mm, is crafted from high-quality titanium. The blue dial, the Arabic numerals, the sapphire bezel (according to the manufacturer, this is the closest-looking version to the original bakelite one) – all of this only emphasizes the sporty spirit of this watch. And the massive three-link bracelet, also in titanium, with a deployant clasp only enhances its presence. On the other hand are all the hallmarks that show this watch carries the DNA of a true Fifty Fathoms – water resistance of 300 m, the abundant SuperLumiNova on the indices, bezel, and hands, the sapphire bezel (which has been the trademark for all FF since 2007), the embossed “BlancpaiN” inscription on the side of the case – all of this confirms the watch's belonging to the famous line of this respected manufacturer.
The case back of the watch is transparent, allowing you to enjoy the magnificent mechanics – the in-house Blancpain Calibre 1315 movement, with 227 components, 35 jewels, and a power reserve of over 120 hours!!!. And the finishing of the movement is of a very high level and once again answers the question of why this brand is so valuable and valued.
All of this is offered in a mind-blowing Pelican box – in the style of one for a professional weapon – befitting a tool for professionals and once again confirming the brand's proverbial attention to detail.
