The Omega Speedmaster HB‑SIA was created to commemorate the groundbreaking Solar Impulse project, the aircraft that completed the first solar-powered flight around the world. Omega partnered with the project as official timekeeper, resulting in this distinctive Speedmaster edition inspired by aviation engineering and sustainable innovation.
This model features a unique carbon-fiber style dial, echoing the lightweight composite materials used in the Solar Impulse aircraft. Bold luminous markers and hands ensure excellent legibility, while orange accents and aviation-inspired details give the watch a technical and modern aesthetic.
The watch retains the classic Speedmaster chronograph layout with three subdials and a tachymeter bezel, allowing for precise timing and speed calculations. The date display at 4:30 integrates subtly into the dial while maintaining the balanced design.
