De Cartier Santos is zonder meer een klassieker en een icoon in de horlogewereld. Het Santos-horloge vindt zijn oorsprong in 1904, toen Louis Cartier een polshorloge ontwierp voor de Braziliaanse luchtvaartpionier Alberto Santos-Dumont.
De Santos wordt onder andere herkend aan de rechthoekige kastvorm en de schroeven op de lunette. Vroege exemplaren werden uitsluitend geleverd op een leren band. Eind jaren zeventig werd de inmiddels iconische geschroefde metalen band geïntroduceerd, die tegenwoordig onlosmakelijk met de Santos is verbonden.
Het hier aangeboden horloge is een fraaie iteratie van dit icoon. Het horloge komt uit de periode waarin Cartier besloot zeer uitgesproken ontwerpen uit te brengen binnen zijn modellijnen. De forse kast en de robuuste sluiting, in combinatie met de materiaalsamenstelling, onderstrepen dit duidelijk.
Het horloge verkeert in nette staat en wordt geleverd met doos en handleidingen.
