The Patek Philippe Aquanaut
The Patek Philippe Aquanaut was the entry-level watch in the Patek collection, inspired by the well-known Patek Philippe Nautilus. With in-house calibers, different materials used on the watches and different straps compared to the Nautilus, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut is a completely different watch.
About the Patek Philippe Aquanaut
Released back in 1997, the Aquanaut was inspired by the Nautilus. With the octagonal, porthole shaped bezel but being much rounder compared to the Nautilus, the Aquanaut is the sportier watch with a modern appearance. The Patek Philippe Aquanaut is water-resistant up to 120 meter, and shares the in-house calibers with the Nautilus. You might call the Patek Philippe Aquanaut the little sister compared to the Patek Nautilus.
When you’re in the market for the Nautilus inspired watch from Patek Philippe, you can opt for the Aquanaut in different materials and different colors when it comes to the strap.
The cheapest watch in the Aquanaut collection is the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce reference 5068R, costing €45.000 and features diamonds, a date function, made of rose gold and is outfitted with a quartz movement. The stainless-steel version with a black dial and a date function is a bit more expensive at €52.000, while the white gold piece sells for close to €80.000 on Wristler. You can even opt for complications, just like the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time Advanced Research reference 5650G with a second time zone. This piece is limited to 500 ever made and features a white gold case. Expect to pay at least €330.000 for a piece if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one.
