Oris is one of the few watch brands that has been independent for over 100 years. The watch company exclusively produces mechanical watches with great value for money. The history of the watch brand already started back in 1904 in the German speaking part of Switzerland.
The history of Oris
Paul Cattin and Georges Christian took over Lohner and Co back in 1904. Oris quickly became the largest employer in the town and had factories in numerous locations. They even had their own bus service to drop of their colleagues at the shops and factories. What’s so special about Oris is that it is still privately owned and has a clear focus on producing watches for a special purpose.
They’ve dedicated their time to produce the best diver’s watch, motorsport watches, aviation watches and more. The functional design and high quality of these pieces make Oris a fine piece of art on everyone’s wrist.
Prices of Oris watches
With a large history of watchmaking, Oris always produces watches for a certain purpose. If you’re into diving, you can get a Aquis Date which is water-resistant up to 300 meters and will cost you around €1.000. You can also get your hands on a Big Crown ProPilot at €2.600 made for aviation.
Into racing? Just opt for the Williams Day Date for around €1.000. Oris watches are made of high quality materials but are friendly priced compared to other Swiss manufacturers.
