Mühle from Glashütte
With roots going back to 1869 when Robert Mühle founded the company in Glashütte, Germany, they focused on manufacturing precision measuring instruments for the watchmaking industry, such as dial indicators and micrometers. Later on, they expanded their expertise to include marine chronometers and nautical instruments, making sure they’ve become a significant supplier to the German Navy.
From the maritime instruments to watches, that happened around the 1990s, so over 100 years later since they’ve founded the company. They turned their focus on wristwatches while maintaining its commitment to precision and functional design, which resembles their current collection. Since the heritage from Mühle Glashütte came from the maritime industry, you can see that in their collection as well, with craftsmanship and attention to detail found in every watch.
The brand is known for developing their in-house movements and modifications, such as the patented woodpecker neck regulation which enhances the precision and stability of the movement and their use of custom-made balance springs.
The Mühle Glashütte collection
You might have guessed it right, but the Nautical collection pays homage to Mühle Glashütte’s maritime history, with models like the Seebataillon GMT and the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer. These are built to last and feature nautical design elements.
The Teutonia from Mühle Glashütte is made for elegance and precision, with a classic design with complications like a moon phase or a chronograph. The Lunova is more modern, with contemporary aesthetics and can be found with high-precision movements.
Prices of the watches
The watches from Mühle Glashütte aren’t that expensive compared to other brands in the luxury watch market. Starting at around €1.400 for a pre-owned Lunova up to €3.000 for the Seebataillon GMT, you can add a Mühle Glashütte to your collection. Worn on a leather strap, rubber strap or textile one, there’s plenty to choose from within the Mühle Glashütte catalog.
