Longines watches
Longines
One of the very first luxury watch brands in the history is Longines. Founded back in 1832, Longines was the first Swiss watch brand making watches to time horse races, tennis matches and skiing competitions. One thing that makes Longines unique is the fact that their chronographs are accurate within one hundredth of a second.
The history of Longines
With over 180 years of experience in the luxury watch market, it makes Longines one of the most successful watch brands around. They’ve produced many men’s and women’s watches ever since the launch in 1832 with different designs and features such as a chronograph or a moon phase. When the company was founded in 1832, it wasn’t that successful in the beginning.
In 1852 Ernest Francillon joined the company and he began mass production. When a piece of land went up for sale in 1866, Francillon immediately purchased this piece which was known as ‘Les Longines’ (the long meadows) and was perfect to establish a factory on that piece of land.
Women’s watches from Longines
With numerous models being produced by Longines, there are a lot of watches available for women as well. The Elegance Collection with the DolceVita series is extremely popular with the rectangular design, which was made of stainless-steel, or 18-karat rose gold.
If you’re in the market for a round case with a metal bracelet, there is the PrimaLunca collection with two-tone stainless-steel and gold versions. You can even opt for diamonds on these pieces. Prices start at around €1.000 for the women’s watches from Longines, making it an affordable entry in the luxury watch market.
Vintage Longines watches
Since the large history of the Swiss brand, you can easily find a vintage or pre-owned Longines watch for your wrist. You don’t even need that much money on your bank to get started with this brand.
Since prices start at roughly €1.000 for an entry model Longines watch, you can enjoy it to the fullest. If you’re willing to spend some more money you can get your hands on a €50.000 Longines watch.
