Jaeger LeCoultre
Jaeger LeCoultre offers luxury timepieces made in Switzerland for both men and women. These pieces are perfected to the greatest technological challenges of watchmaking with unique pieces like the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso and the Polaris. The Swiss company specializes in luxury watches with a thin feeling, but with complicated movements and in-house calibers.
The history of Jaeger LeCoultre
The brothers Charles-Antoine and François Ulysse LeCoultre founded their first ever workshop back in 1833. Eleven years later, the brothers developed a precise measuring instrument for producing wheels. The Millionometer could measure to within a one-millionth of a meter, known as a micrometer and later would become the foundation of their precise watchmaking.
The LeCoultre brothers started out making pocketwatches and movements, where other Swiss manufacturers even used their movements like Patek Philippe because the quality was outstanding. In 1978, a German tachometer producer VDO acquired more than 50% of the LeCoultre company while Audemars Piguet acquired the rest. Since 2000 the company is a part of the Richemont Group, just like Panerai, IWC, Vacheron Constantin.
Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso
One of the most iconic watches in the Jaeger LeCoultre collection is the Reverso. It might even be one of the most iconic watches ever made. It celebrated its 90th birthday in 2021, while the original design with the rectangular case and Art-Deco style from the 1930s wasn’t changed. It was developed for polo players as they often complain about broken crystals on their watches. The reversible case on the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso was the perfect solution where it protects the display from any impacts. You can opt for the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso in different colors and sizes making it the perfect watch for both men and women.
You can already call it your own for around €4.500 on Wristler, while some other pieces are priced around €40.000 for the limited pieces (only 190 watches were made of the Reverso Tribute Nonantième). The king of queens is the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Grande Complication, made of white gold or platinum. They feature a tourbillon, perpetual calendar and a sidereal time display. Expect to pay at least €350.000 for a piece if you’re lucky enough to find one. Jaeger LeCoultre has a lot of watches that can be found on the Pre-Owned market. Since the brand has a long history, there are a lot of vintage pieces on the market. A Pre-Owned Reverso could be the watch for you.
