The history of Hamilton
Producing pocket watches at first, Hamilton was founded back in 1892 and quickly earned a reputation for producing high precision timekeepers. Especially amongst railroad workers, their pocket watches were pretty popular back in the day. By 1900 even, over 50% of all train drivers and rail workers relied on the precise Hamilton watches.
A couple of years later, the company entered the world of pilot’s watches and military, and Hamilton became one of the main suppliers for these worlds with their precise timepieces. In 1957, Hamilton released the first ever battery-powered wristwatch, and 13 years later they released the first ever digital timepiece with LED-displays, so there are some highlights in the history of Hamilton.
