Grand Seiko watches
One of the high-end watches in the Seiko collection is the Grand Seiko. It features the best Seiko has to offer, with the best finishing of the timepieces in the Seiko collection. Their ‘zaratsu’ polishing is among the best in the world. You can get your hands on a Grand Seiko between €2.000 and €115.000.
The history of Grand Seiko
Ever since 1881, Kintaro Hattori opened a small store in his early twenties. The first ever factory from Seiko followed 11 years later with the name ‘Seikosha’. The word ‘Seiko’ means precision in Japanese. Their goal was to manufacture all of their components featured in their watches but to sell them for affordable pricing.
Even today, Seiko still produces watches with this in mind. With the Grand Seiko collection, the best materials, movements and features are used on these watches. Starting at around €2.000, you can get your hands on a Grand Seiko GS SBFG021 with a black dial, date wheel and a stainless-steel polished case.
If you’re planning on spending a bit more money, you really should take a look at the Spring Drive collection from GS or even the Evolution.
The dials on the Grand Seiko watches are amazing, they look like a snowflake, a mountain or something else that resembles the nature. Grand Seiko is known for their high-precision watches, both automatic and Quartz-powered.
