We love these funky 1970s Patek Beta 21 watches. This one is a reference 3587-1, where the ‘-1’ denotes the mesh bracelet (the ‘-2’ is for the so-called Swiss Cheese bracelet). In the early 60s, several prominent brands, including Rolex and Patek Philippe, collaborated on the development of what became known the Beta 21 movement at the Centre Electronique Horologer (CEH). By the end of the 1960s approximately 6000 Beta 21 movements had been made, each virtually identical (except a few minor modifications on a brand-by-brand basis) and they were put into production.And these from the house of Patek are rare : around 400 of these watches were made , circa 350 in yellow gold and 40\/50 pieces in white gold !This example is housed in a yellow gold TV case that remains in lovely condition and houses a royal blue dial. The dial remains in outstanding condition with applied hour markers and an applied date window. This cool Patek is fitted with a mesh, sometimes called Milanese, bracelet that offers an elegant look on the writs. The bracelet will fit a wrist size up to 18.5 cm.
