We have had the opportunity to write about the Planet Ocean series on many occasions, and the one presented today is a representative of the next generation with the brand's new Master Chronometer movements and was first introduced in 2016.
This watch pays tribute to Omega's diving heritage – with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the black dial with a date window at 3 o'clock and the well-proportioned hour markers and hands, it is not only comfortable but also functionally balanced. The unidirectional rotating bezel (in this case, with orange accents) is mounted on a 43.5 mm steel case, and its polished finish is the main visual difference compared to the previous PO version (besides, of course, the size). The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT is water resistant to an impressive 600 meters / 2000 feet / 60 bar, and features a helium escape valve.
This watch provides exceptional performance and great style, both above and below the water. The massive steel case, the deep black dial with orange accents and the luminescent hands and markers, designed to ensure excellent visibility even in low-light conditions, the orange tip of the seconds hand – all of this allows this watch to be a true instrument in the hands of professionals.
The movement gives new reasons for admiration – Omega's new co-axial – 8900, operating at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations (3.5 Hz) unusual for other movements, with a power reserve of over 60 hours, 39 jewels, and 202 components. Two barrels, the brand's Nivachoc anti-shock system, anti-magnetic to 15,000 Gauss, etc. – all this allows Omega to offer an extended warranty for some of its watches with this movement.
