H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds 3200-1205 Funky Blue Black Edition is one of the brightest examples of how haute horlogerie can successfully merge with contemporary sporty chic. The model, presented by the independent Swiss brand, replaces the brand’s traditional classical aesthetic with a more aggressive, darker presence. And the fact that it was produced in a strictly limited series of only 100 pieces makes the model even more interesting in the eyes of watchmaking enthusiasts. The main accent in the design of this version is the stainless steel case with black DLC coating (Diamond-Like Carbon). The contemporary dimensions of 42.8 mm and the thickness of around 14.2 mm give it a serious presence on the wrist, while the black coating visually reduces the watch compared with the standard steel versions. It combines polished and satin-finished surfaces with the case flank recesses characteristic of the Pioneer collection. The dials of H. Moser & Cie. are legendary, and here we see the emblematic Funky Blue fumé with a sunburst effect, with the colour transitioning from bright, electric-blue cobalt in the centre to an almost deep black tone at the periphery. There are no unnecessary inscriptions on the dial, and there is no date window either, which ensures perfect symmetry. The blackened leaf-shaped hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova, guaranteeing excellent legibility in the dark. Undoubtedly, one of the most attractive things about this watch, apart from the fact that it is an H. Moser ;-), is the movement used – Calibre HMC 200. It operates at a frequency quite unusual for most brands and models: 3.5 Hz, or in other terms, 21,600 vibrations per hour, has over 72 hours of power reserve and “carries” 27 jewels – dry numbers... The caseback is open, and this allows us to enjoy the work of this unique movement.
