Heritage Narrative The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40, reference 228239, represents one of the most iconic expressions of Rolex’s prestige line, crafted entirely in 18 kt white gold. Introduced as the modern 40 mm evolution of the Day-Date collection, this reference combines contemporary proportions with the unmistakable design codes that have defined the model since its debut in 1956. This 2019 example features a silver dial with Roman numeral hour markers, framed by Rolex’s signature fluted bezel in white gold. The balanced dial layout places the day display in full at 12 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops lens, preserving the instantly recognizable Day-Date identity. Powering the watch is Rolex’s calibre 3255, a new-generation self-winding mechanical movement developed and manufactured entirely in-house. Featuring Chronergy escapement architecture and an approximate 70-hour power reserve, the calibre 3255 delivers outstanding precision, durability, and long-term reliability. The watch is fitted with the iconic President bracelet, crafted in solid 18 kt white gold with semi-circular three-piece links, offering both comfort and refinement.
