And one of the collections that pays tribute to the brand's expertise in producing reliable instruments with a historical heritage is undoubtedly Monaco, which is intended for both motorsport professionals and thrill-seekers. All watch enthusiasts know the connection of the Monaco with racing cars and the series' contribution to the brand's very survival, and today we have the pleasure of presenting to your attention the Tag Heuer Monaco Special Edition CBL2184.FT6236.
From its very launch, the idea of the model has been to combine, on the one hand, the heritage and classicism of its original, and on the other, to be modern and forward-thinking. The model was introduced for 2023 to mark the 80th anniversary of the Monaco Grand Prix, and its design largely echoes the original model, but with numerous references to the motorsports for which the original was created.
The watch is executed in a very classic combination of black and the recently popular turquoise – the dial is skeletonized, and the hands and hour markers are elegantly garnished with a layer of SuperLuminova – which makes reading the watch's indications easy both during the day and during the dark hours of the day. The date display is in the aperture at 6 o'clock, the chronograph's seconds counter is a red central hand, the minute counter is at 3 o'clock. All this elegance is housed in a rectangular case – a trademark of the Monaco series – and surrounded by a blackened titanium frame – which is not only very stylish and striking, but also very distinctive. The case back is transparent, and this gives us the opportunity to enjoy the work of the watch's mechanical heart – and there, under the code name Tag Heuer Calibre 02, an in-house chronograph works tirelessly, operating at 28,800 vpH, with a power reserve of 80 hours, 33 jewels...
