Description
Many Top Time models, including this Ref. 2002‑33, were associated with the world of auto racing. The design of the dial on this Top Time, also known as the 'Reverse Panda', is clear and provides a nice contrast, making the chronograph functions quick and easy to read during precision tasks. The name is due to the black matte dial and the white subdials, which stand out even more. This configuration is very popular among watch enthusiasts!
Additionally, the dial is particularly beautiful due to the black, granite texture, which displays a lovely gray sheen from certain angles. Furthermore, the steel baton markers on the dial and the hands have a warm patina that has developed over the years. We must also not forget the red chronograph hand, which provides a subtle yet beautiful contrast to the watch. Furthermore, this vintage Breitling features a beautifully domed plexiglass crystal that adds extra depth to the dial. The crystal shows a small mark/scratch near the right subdial. This is only slightly visible from certain angles and is certainly not considered distracting.
This Breitling Top Time 2002‑33 dates from the year 1970 and is equipped with a hand-wound chronograph movement Valjoux 7733, which has recently undergone a complete service. Characteristic of this movement is its reputation for the precise and direct operation of the chronograph pushers. Of course, we must not forget the compact 36 mm unpolished case, which is razor-sharp and whose original angles and lines are perfectly visible. Thanks to this combination of reliability, functionality, and design, we could not resist the temptation: this model fits perfectly within our collection!
Additionally, this vintage Breitling Top Time Chronograph features a smooth, gray saffiano strap that perfectly matches the dial, and of course, a vintage Breitling buckle to complete the look. The watch comes with a 24-month warranty on the movement.
