The Breitling Chronomat 81.950 is one of the models that has played a central role in the modern history of Breitling. The Chronomat was reintroduced in the 1980s and quickly grew to become one of the brand's most important pilot's watches. This early vintage version from the 1980s is particularly interesting for collectors. The Chronomat was originally developed in collaboration with the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori, which gave the model its strong aviation DNA. The characteristic rotating bezel with 18k rider-tabs and the robust chronograph configuration make the Chronomat a true 'tool watch' for pilots. The case has a diameter of 40mm, a classic size that is still very wearable today. This piece is in very good vintage condition, with a nice appearance that fits an authentic watch from this period. Moreover, we see a completely matte case, typical for very early editions of the Chronomat. Inside, the reliable (non-signed) Breitling Caliber operates, based on the legendary Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. Non-signed, because these early editions did not yet have a signed rotor. This movement is known for its robustness, precision, and proven reliability. The movement has been reviewed and tested and operates excellently and accurately. A significant bonus is that this watch comes as a rare full set, consisting of; Original Breitling box, Breitling guarantee papers, Breitling booklet, Extra strap with Breitling spring ring clasp, Our guarantee report, and 1 year warranty. An early and characterful example of the iconic Chronomat, a model that has become one of the most important pillars of Breitling. Thanks to the complete set and the nice condition, this is an interesting collector's item for enthusiasts of vintage pilot's chronographs.
