The Louis Cartier Collection, announced by Cartier Paris in 1973, marked a redesign of the maison’s watch offerings upon its launch. Fresh takes on classics such as the Tank and Santos-Dumont were accompanied by new designs, including the elegant Gondole Ellipse A slim, horizontally oriented watch with a simple Roman dial, the Gondole embodies the same spectacular design principles as the Tank, yet in an unconventional format. This particular Gondole Ellipse features a beautifully crafted 18K yellow gold case measuring 28 x 32 mm, Cartier’s signature cabochon winding crown, and a striking white “Roman” Paris-signed dial accented by blued steel sword hands. The manual-wind movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watch maker.
