Patek Philippe’s Gondolo Collection dates back to a partnership with Gondolo & Labouriau, a prestigious retailer based in Rio de Janeiro. From 1872 until 1927, this Brazilian firm played a major role in the brand’s history, even inspiring the creation of the Chronometro Gondolo, a pocket watch made exclusively for them.
During a period when much of Europe was facing economic hardship and the turmoil of World War II, Gondolo & Labouriau remarkably accounted for nearly one-third of Patek Philippe’s total watch distribution, highlighting the strength of their collaboration. The Gondolo line pays tribute to this legacy.
The Gondolo collection showcases a range of elegant non-round designs such as tonneau, cushion, and rectangular cases—many of which are tailored toward women. This particular model features a rectangular case measuring 25.5mm in width and 33mm in length, offering a presence slightly larger than that of the classic men’s Cartier Tank, while maintaining a refined and timeless aesthetic.
