This lovely square dress watch, crafted in the 1930s, was actually designed to function as a doctor's watch, featuring a large, central seconds hand, a rarity for the time. The inclusion of a prominently displayed seconds hand and a detailed minute track allowed doctors to measure a patient's pulse with greater precision, using just one hand. This design was marketed to doctors as it was much easier to use than the more common small-seconds displays of the time.This watch is cased in a square 26x36mm case. including the so-called rolled-over lugs. It remains in excellent condition with a snap on case back. The two-tone silver dial features an outer brushed section with Arabic numerals and a matte inner with painted Roman hours. The watch is fitted with no lume blued hands.
