The Avenger series in itself is relatively new in Breitling's product line and was launched only in 2001. Nevertheless, it quickly became very well-liked and sought-after by the brand's admirers. The model presented today is part of the newest series and was launched at the end of 2024.
This watch in itself is relatively restrained, because with its 42 mm case size, massive crown and chronograph pushers, classic bezel design, and overall "instrument for professionals" aura, it does not try to compete in size with the larger representatives of the series.
The detail, the finish, and the overall impression are at the usual high level for Breitling. The watch is truly very masculine – it lacks the striking size and "look at me - I'm a Breitling" presence of the Super Avenger or the for Bentley series, nor the recognizability of the Navitimer, but at the same time, it has all the potential to become a very cult model.
The watch has a classic black dial with black subdials and elongated hour markers, which, along with the hands, are coated with a thick layer of Super-LumiNova, glowing very brightly and for a long time. For us, the bezel is one of the most masculine among those offered on the market – frankly, we regret that Breitling decided to change its design a few years ago, and in most "instrumental" series it is now quite different. The only consolation is that with the Avenger and Super Avenger the change is not so drastic – it remains unidirectional, with 120 clear and distinct clicks and a diver's "dot" at 12 o'clock.
The crown is the other highlight that we really like in this series – massive, serrated, with a large, embossed brand "B", easy to use even with gloves. The guards that surround it on both sides, as well as the massive chronograph pushers, only complete the overall impression.
Through the transparent case back, one can observe the operation of one of the flagships in Breitling's line of in-house movements – Calibre B01: a column-wheel chronograph, with over 70 hours of power reserve and 47 jewels.
The 300 m water resistance, the COSC-certified chronometer, and the massive three-row bracelet leave no doubt about the model and brand on your wrist and only reinforce the overall impression of this instrument. The other innovation in the series is the clasp with the ability for easy and quick size adjustment via an integrated system with a button on the inside.
And to summarize – if you want a cult representative of Breitling, in excellent condition and with a full set, but have not chosen the Super Avenger because of its size, this offer is precisely for you
