Descrição
Breitling Chrono-Matic 1970 GMT 2115 (Ultra Rare). Ultra-rare Breitling Chrono-Matic GMT, beautiful, honest original condition. In 1969, the world’s first automatic chronograph movement was presented: the calibre 11. Three manufacturers had worked together on the development of this legendary calibre: Breitling, Heuer-Leonidas and Hamilton-Büren. In 1970, the improved calibre 12 and the calibre 14 with a GMT complication for displaying the second time zone were released. The Chrono-Matic from 1970 shown here is also equipped with the latter. The iconic 46mm oversized stainless steel case is popular with collectors and houses a multicoloured dial. The rotating bezel is divided into light and dark halves, representing day and night. It is nice to see that the original purple colour in the bezel has been beautifully preserved to this day. In most examples from the 1970s, it has faded to a light brown. In this example, the hands still glow in beautiful neon orange. Thanks to the yellow GMT hand, the time in a second time zone can be read. The watch also features a date window with a red date disc and, of course, the chronograph complication with a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour totaliser. A must for any serious Breitling collector.
