The name “Pentatlon” comes from a sticker on the case back of many of these watches, which features the Olympic cross and the words “Omega Chronostop Pentatlon.” Pentatlon is the Italian word for pentathlon, a sport consisting of five disciplines, all of which require short time measurements and are therefore ideal for the Chronostop design.
