Patek Philippe Goes Italian: Seven Exclusive Watches for Milan 2026

Patek Philippe doesn’t do regional limited editions every other Tuesday. So when the manufacturer launches not one, not two, but seven watches exclusively for the Italian market, collectors tend to pay attention.

The occasion is the Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition 2026 in Milan, where the brand has brought together more than 500 watches, historical pieces and objects while simultaneously introducing a seriously impressive selection of new references.

We’re talking about everything from an Italian-flavoured Aquanaut to a brand-new platinum perpetual calendar chronograph and a pair of spectacular World Time Minute Repeaters. Time for a closer look.

Seven Patek Philippe watches made for Italy

Patek Philippe has a long relationship with collectors around the world, but these seven releases are very specifically Italian.

Each is a Milano 2026 Limited Edition, and production numbers range from just five pieces to 250. Several models incorporate the colours of the Italian flag, while others take their inspiration directly from Milan itself.

The complete Milan 2026 collection consists of:

  • Patek Philippe 5978P-010 Instantaneous Perpetual Calendar Chronograph - 120 pieces
  • Patek Philippe 7047G-010 Minute Repeater - 5 pieces
  • Patek Philippe 7147G-010 Perpetual Calendar - 100 pieces
  • Patek Philippe 7007G-010 Calatrava - 200 pieces
  • Patek Philippe 5167A-014 Aquanaut - 250 pieces
  • Patek Philippe 5531G-012 World Time Minute Repeater - 5 pieces
  • Patek Philippe 5531G-013 World Time Minute Repeater - 5 pieces

And yes, that means there is a new steel Aquanaut limited to only 250 examples. We probably don’t have to explain what happens next.

Patek Philippe 5978P-010: the big one

Let’s start with arguably the most important watch of the collection: the Patek Philippe 5978P-010 Instantaneous Perpetual Calendar Chronograph.

The 42mm case is made from platinum and houses the new manually wound calibre CH 29-535 PS Q, combining a traditional column-wheel chronograph with an instantaneous perpetual calendar.

The movement contains an impressive 500 components. At midnight, its calendar mechanism switches the day, date, month and leap-year indications virtually simultaneously, in approximately 30 milliseconds. Which is ridiculously fast.

Visually, things get a little more playful.

Patek has given the watch a navy-blue dial fading towards black around the edges, while two bright red chronograph hands provide contrast. The day and month indications are displayed in Italian, and the watch comes on a navy composite strap with red stitching plus a small tricolore detail near the clasp.

Production? 120 pieces for Italy.

Considering the completely new movement inside, the 5978P-010 could eventually become significant beyond this particular limited edition as well. Patek Philippe developing a 500-component calibre for only 120 watches would certainly be unusual.

The red Patek Philippe 7047G-010 Minute Repeater

Then things get properly colourful.

The Patek Philippe 7047G-010 combines a 38mm white-gold case with an intense red lacquered dial and matching red alligator strap. Subtle it isn't.

Underneath the red exterior sits Patek Philippe's automatic calibre R 27 PS, equipped with a minute repeater that chimes the hours, quarter-hours and minutes.

At just 10.24mm thick, the watch remains surprisingly compact considering what is happening inside.

There is another detail that makes this reference particularly interesting to collectors: only five examples will exist. Five. Even by Patek Philippe standards, that's properly rare.

Patek Philippe 7147G-010 Perpetual Calendar in green

If red isn't quite your colour, Patek has another part of the Italian flag covered.

The Patek Philippe 7147G-010 Perpetual Calendar gets a rich green lacquered dial combined with a carbon-fibre-inspired pattern in its centre.

Its 38mm white-gold case houses the familiar calibre 240 Q, Patek Philippe's ultra-thin automatic perpetual-calendar movement with its distinctive micro-rotor.

You get the complete perpetual-calendar package: day, date, month, leap-year indication, 24-hour display and moonphase.

Once again, the calendar indications are in Italian.

The green continues onto the alligator strap, with a small piece of tricolore stitching near the buckle completing the theme.

Patek Philippe will produce 100 examples.

Patek Philippe 7007G-010: a white Calatrava with a modern twist

Next comes the most straightforward watch of the seven. Although "straightforward" is obviously relative when we're talking about a limited-edition Patek Philippe.

The Calatrava 7007G-010 uses a 38mm white-gold case paired with a white lacquered dial. The centre carries the same modern patterned finish found on several of the other Milan releases.

Inside sits the automatic calibre 26-330 S C, providing central hours, minutes and seconds alongside a date window at 3 o'clock. A white alligator strap completes the monochromatic look, apart from, you guessed it, Italian tricolore stitching near the buckle.

Production is limited to 200 pieces. It's probably the quietest watch in the Milan collection, but that might also be exactly its appeal.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A-014 Milano 2026

And now for the watch that could create the biggest stir on the collector market.

Meet the Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A-014 Milano 2026 Limited Edition.

The basic ingredients are instantly familiar. You get a 40.8mm stainless-steel Aquanaut case, the automatic calibre 26-330 S C and the signature composite strap.

But Patek has completely changed the personality of the watch through colour.

The embossed dial is finished in blue with a black gradient around the edge. A bright red minute track and red seconds hand provide the Italian-inspired contrast, while a midnight-blue composite strap finishes the look.

It's sporty, colourful and considerably more extroverted than the regular 5167A.

And there are only 250 pieces, all intended for the Italian market. For context, ordinary steel Aquanauts are already among the most difficult modern Patek Philippe watches to obtain at retail. Add regional exclusivity, a unique colour combination and a production run of 250 pieces, and you've got all the ingredients collectors tend to chase.

We wouldn't expect these to become easier to find once they reach the secondary market.

Two World Time Minute Repeaters dedicated to Milan

The final pair takes things in a completely different direction.

The Patek Philippe 5531G-012 and 5531G-013 World Time Minute Repeaters combine two serious complications with one of the manufacture's most traditional decorative crafts.

Both feature hand-made cloisonné grand feu enamel dials depicting central Milan.

The 5531G-012 shows Milan during the daytime, created using 16 enamel colours. The 5531G-013 shows the city at night using 12 colours. Both require approximately 45cm of incredibly fine gold wire to create the outlines of the enamel artwork.

Around the map you'll find the world-time city ring, with the city names written in Italian and Milano picked out in red. Inside both watches is the automatic calibre R 27 HU, combining a 24-time-zone world-time complication with a minute repeater.

And Patek's implementation is especially clever: the repeater chimes the local time currently selected on the world-time display. Each version is limited to just five pieces.

These aren't merely difficult watches to buy. With ten watches between the two references, they're effectively miniature works of horological art destined for a tiny number of collections.

Why these Italian Patek Philippe editions matter

Regional editions aren't new to the watch industry, but seven watches arriving simultaneously from Patek Philippe makes the Milan collection particularly interesting.

More importantly, Patek hasn't simply added "Milano" to a caseback and called it a day.

There is a clear Italian identity running throughout the collection. Red, white and green appear across several references. Calendar indications and city names have been translated into Italian. The two cloisonné World Time models literally put Milan at the centre of the dial.

And then there's the 5978P-010.

Its newly developed instantaneous perpetual-calendar chronograph movement means the Milan collection isn't only about colours and exclusivity. It also introduces genuinely new watchmaking that could potentially find its way into future Patek Philippe references.

That makes this release considerably more interesting than your average regional limited edition.

What happens to these Patek Philippe watches on the secondary market?

That's the interesting question for us at Wristler.

With production ranging between five and 250 pieces per reference, none of these watches will exactly be common. Add the fact that they're officially reserved for Italy, and international collectors wanting one may eventually have to look towards the secondary market.

The Aquanaut 5167A-014 is the obvious model to watch. Steel Aquanauts already enjoy enormous collector demand, and the distinctive blue-and-red configuration makes this one immediately recognisable.

The five-piece minute repeaters and enamel World Time models sit in another category altogether. Their tiny production numbers mean public transactions could be extremely scarce.

And the 5978P-010? That's perhaps the most intriguing long-term reference of the seven. A platinum case, new calibre, major complications and a 120-piece production run give collectors plenty to talk about.

As always, though, rarity doesn't automatically determine market value. Actual secondary-market pricing will depend on how often these watches surface and what collectors are prepared to pay once they do.

Milan gets its Patek moment

Patek Philippe could have celebrated its Milan Watch Art Grand Exhibition with one commemorative watch.

Instead, it created seven. From a relatively simple white Calatrava to a steel Aquanaut and all the way up to five-piece minute repeaters with hand-made enamel artwork, the Milano 2026 collection covers almost every corner of modern Patek Philippe.

Our eye will naturally be on the Aquanaut 5167A-014 once examples begin finding their way onto the market. But from a watchmaking perspective, the 5978P-010 and its new instantaneous perpetual-calendar chronograph calibre might ultimately be the most significant release.

Either way, Italian Patek collectors have been given something pretty special.

And everyone outside Italy?

Well… there's always the secondary market.
